DP83867IR: Power line capacitor constant

Part Number: DP83867IR

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

I am reviewing a customer's schematic.
Could you please advise on the following?
Please see the attachment.

Cap1-3 are being used with 100nF instead of 10nF. Is this a problem?
What is the purpose of this capacitor and why 10nF is recommended?

<Power supply user conditions>
VDDA2P5=2.5V
VDD1P1=1.1V
VDDIO=2.5VVDD1P8 is not used.

<Device>
DP83867IRPAP

Best Regards,

  • Hi Takahashi-san,

    These capacitors are used to filter noise on the power rails for stability.

    The values used are to filter the noise over a variety of frequency ranges.

    If the customer's application does not expect significant noise on the power-supply rails, 100nF is acceptable. Otherwise, please recommend these to be switched to 10nF as recommended in datasheet.

    Thank you,

    Evan
