Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90LV019
Tool/software:
Hey TI Experts,
We have an application where we need to communicate between two boards upto 5 metres apart or in some cases upto 10m.
Therefore, as SPI suffers from signal reflections, attenuation over long distances and noise. We are designing a ckt using the DS90LV047 driver IC which will be on one board and the DS90LV048 receiver on the other board.
Thereby, due to this arrangement we can use the differential twisted pair signals to communicate between the two boards located upto 5 metres apart.
The SPI we are using has an additional data line because of which we have 5 signals communicated through 5 twisted pair cables plus a power and ground wire or two RJ45 based Cat5 cables for the purpose.
Note:- We've tested this concept on bench using the following part used as it was locally available:- DS90LV019
Using this part we tested out the concept with Cat5 cables upto 5 metres and it worked out fine.
This design will be used in a HV Automotive application.
Hence, I would like to know if this concept is going to work as desired or is there going to be any extra considerations or circuit to be put in place for better noise immunity or any standard of connector etc.
Would like your valuable suggestion on the same.
Thanks and Regards
Ibrahim
