Can you share the exact model# of the cable used? I'd like to review datasheet to see insertion loss spec.

For a quick test we can try now, disabling auto-negotiation should improve cable reach:

MMD7: 0x200[12] = '0' // register write to disable auto-neg

Could you help me understand the characteristic impedance of this cable - I cannot find this from the link.

We have termination circuit recommendations for 100ohm and 125ohm characteristic impedance cables shown in above appnote, I am trying to relate these to your cable type.

For further context, our EVM's default termination circuit is designed for 100ohm characteristic impedance cable (Figure 4-1 in above appnote).

If the cable deviates from this, maximum cable each will decrease.
