Regarding the recommended 949 init, one of the steps involves detecting the 0X5A register.

Could you please clarify if the BIT7 of the 0X5A register requires participation from the HDMI TDMS？

Could the 0X5A register be replaced with the 0X0C register?

No. Bit 7 of 949 register 0x5A does not require input from the HDMI source.

No. Bit 0 in register 0x0C does not indicate if the deserializer capabilities were detected.
