SN65DSI86: question about SN65DSI86

Part Number: SN65DSI86

Tool/software:

Hello:

May I ask, does IC do any processing when converting MiPI signals into EDP signals? Is there any difference between the EDP signal converted from IC and the original EDP signal?

The customer encountered a problem where using the platform's original signal may result in color coordinates not being able to be measured when tapping the screen. After IC conversion, tapping the screen can test for pass

  • Hi Jimmy,

Just to clarify, does using the DSI86 help solve the issue?

The IC only take the MIPI data configures the data in the eDP protocol at the respective data rate, and sends it out. The DSI86 always operates on asynchronous mode, so the timing calculations is typically more robust. This may be why. Other than this there should be no difference in the eDP from the IC and the regular eDP signal.
