DP83867IS: using SGMII, unable to link

Tool/software:

I am unable to establish a link using SGMII at 100 Mbit full duplex. Register 0x0037 reads 0x0002, SGMII page received, auto-negotiation not complete. Please ask for any other information that may be useful.

    Hi Gordon,

    Do you see this issue only for 100M speed - have other speeds worked for SGMII?

    I have some questions to help isolate root cause:

    • Register read of 0x6E and 0x10 to confirm SGMII enable strap is being set
    • Is link up on the MDI-side (register 0x1[2] = '1' to confirm)
    • Can the eye diagram for SGMII signaling be measured to confirm valid UI margin?
    • Does writing 0x1F = 0x4000 resolve auto-negotiation?
    • Does the SoC have SGMII auto-negotiation enabled?
