Hi Jiji,
The DS160PT801 will not be directly detected using the lspci command, as it is a PCIe device which only operates at the protocol's physical layer. If you were to plug in the DS160PT801X16EVM by itself into a PCIe slot, I would not expect the device to be enumerated.
The device would be shown as a retimer being present if you are enumerating an endpoint using the lspci's Configuration Details, under the "Link Capabilities" section.
Best,
David
These link capabilities you mean under LSPCI because there is no such a feature in SigCon Architect?
Hi Jiji,
Yes, that is correct. LSPCI is a command specific to Linux environments, which is used to enumerate PCI buses.
SigCon Architect offers additional retimer debug features, such as reading various device status registers and state machines.
This is outlined in our documentation, which is available by request here: https://www.ti.com/secureresources/DS160PT801-DESIGN

Thank you david for the reply! can you accept my EAE request, as I need some guidance for using the retimer Eval board. Thank you in advance!
Hi Jiji,
I saw that you have submitted a request for the device's secure folder. Unfortunately, it is our company policy to deny requests from non-business emails (ex. university).
Are you able to register using your work account?
Best,
David
