TCAL9539-Q1: Sink-Source Current to Supply Magnetometer Sensor

Part Number: TCAL9539-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMAG5173-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

We shall use TCAL9539-Q1 I/O expander's pins to supply TMAG5173B2QDBVRQ1 in our design.

TCAL9539-Q1 I/O shall be supplied a total of 16 TMAG5173B2QDBVRQ1.

What is the TCAL9539-Q1's total and pin source current?

Can TCAL9539-Q1 supply 16 TMAG5173-Q1 simultaneously (TMAG5173-Q1 current consumption is around 3mA)?

Best regards,

Egemen Aksoy

  • Hi Egemen,

    This seems plausible.

Recommended operating conditions for IOH (current through VCC out of the output pin) is < 10mA.

The abs. maximum current that is continuous through the VCC pin is < 160mA when combining all output pins.

If the current demand from 16 TMAG5173's  = 16 x 3 mA = 48 mA, then this would fall into both specs for single IO current and total device current specifications.

    Regards,

    Tyler
