LMH1297EVM: QUESTIONS FOR TI ENGINEERS REGARDING THIS DEVELOPMENT BOARD

Part Number: LMH1297EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH1297,

Tool/software:

Hello,

Can I use the LMH1297 development board to alter 12G 720/59.94 video signals?  I want to zoom the video, rotate the image around the display (camera on uneven ground), and stabilize vibration.  I will use simple devices such as a potentiometer and switch to control these functions.

K.

  • Hi Karl,

The LMH1297 can be used as a retimer device to improve signal integrity of SDI signals.  I believe that modifying actual video content would require interfacing with the SDI protocol.

It's not clear to me how LMH1297 could be used to modify SDI video signals to achieve functions like zoom, rotate, and stabilization, so from my perspective, I don't think the LMH1297EVM would support this functionality.

Please let me know if you believe I'm missing something.

    Thanks,
    Drew

  • Does TI or another company have a dev board that can do that, since this one cannot?

  • Hi Karl,

I believe you'll need an FPGA / ASIC board that supports SDI.  I'm not aware of any board like this that TI offers.  Unfortunately, I'm not aware of what options on the market are available for something like this either.

    Thanks,

    Drew
