Hi.

We are designing a differential input/output module that needs to communicate with an encoder. The SN75158 fits perfectly with our specifications, but we need to find an isolator. Do you have an isolation solution that works with a differential line driver? I’ve only been able to find options for RS485/RS422 protocols.

Hi Andres,

I've reassigned this thread to our isolation product line. I know we do have some digital isolators you can pair with the SN75158. I'll let them suggest a few devices. They may need to know the max data rate you need to support, Vcc, or other information.

The SN75158 is a dual RS-422 driver. RS-485 is backwards compatible, so you can use two isolated RS-485 transceivers. (RS-485 is an electrical specification and works with many protocols.)

You can also use any dual driver with a digital isolator.

Hello Andreas,

The ISO7720 digital isolator would be a good paring with SN75158 to drive the single ended inputs. We have also integrated RS-485 options that would be compatible as Clemens mentioned.'

Hi Andrew.

I think that solution fits perfectly to our design. I think I explained myself wrong, but I wanted to isolate the single ended input not the differential output, which involves to use the RS485 digital isolators
