We are looking for a HDMI (Only Video) to a Dual Channel (Odd/Even) LVDS display with a FullHD resolution (1080p). While looking at the solutions for the same I came across SLLA325C application note. Which is a 2018 document. I wanted to check if this is still a recommended solution for new designs or there are other better solutions now.

Also for the SLLA325C solution is there a software/driver development requirement or is this a hardware only solution?

Hi,

Yes this is still a recommended solution for new designs. The TFP401-Q1 has no plans to EOL. The TFP401-Q1 does not require any software. I will reach out to FPD-link regarding their parts in this system

Hi,

For the FPD-Link parts (RGB to LVDS) in SLLA325C, these are still active and recommended. No software needed on the RGB to LVDS converters.

What is the intended application? Automotive? Consumer? Industrial?

Thanks Jack for the confirmation. The application is automotive, but at this time we are ok with industrial / consumer grade parts as well. Because of lack of other options.

Can you look at the below signal format from the display manufacturer and confirm if we can follow the 2-Channel LVDS connection as per SLLA325C or any changes are needed?

The DS90C387A can satisfy the dual LVDS requirement but it is not automotive rated. Below is the TTL to LVDS mapping of the DS90C387A which matches the displays LVDS mapping
