Can the DS160PR410RNQR chip be used for sata3.0 redriver.

If OK, what is the recommended value for the AC coupling cap which series connection in high-speed signal wire?

What are the considerations in chip design? Thank you!

Hi,

Yes, DS160PR410 could be used for SATA3.

Some considerations to consider:

RX Detection
- Disable RX Detection in DS160PR410 (strap RX_DET pin to L3) - recommended for non PCI Express interface use case where the DS160PR410 is used as buffer with equalization.
AC coupling
- This depends on the application - SATA, SATA Express, or PCI Express
CLTE
- The CLTE boost of DS160PR410 is targeted towards PCIe Gen4 (16Gbps). It will apply less equalization at SATA3 data rates (6Gbps).

I would recommend taking a look at SN75LVPE3101 as well - this may be suitable for your SATA 3 application.
