TUSB1104: Difference between TUSB1104 and TUSB1004

Part Number: TUSB1104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB1004,

Tool/software:

Dear Technical Support Team

I have related question about followin E2E I have been discussing with Shane.

TUSB1004: Compliance test Fail - Interface forum - Interface - TI E2E support forums

I also use TUSB1104 with Type-C. The distance between host and TUSB1104, TUSB1104 and receptacle are same for TUSB1004 use.

Then can I use same register settings like EQ?

I think that the difference is TUSB1104 has USB CC/PD Controller.

Best Regards,

ttd

  • Hi ttd,

    1. If the distances are the same and you are using the same trace material, then yes your EQ settings should be similar.

    2. The TUSB1104 does not have a CC or PD controller. The difference between these two parts is that the TUSB1104 supports USB3.2x2 mode on a connected USB-C port. The TUSB1004 is made for two type-A ports, the TUSB1104 is made for one type-C port.

    Best,

    Shane
