TCA9617B:TCA9617B

Part Number: TCA9617B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXU0101, SN74LVC1G17

Tool/software:

According to the datasheet, TCA9617B is a CMOS integrated circuit and does not involve IIC protocol analysis. If I directly provide a 50Hz square wave (not an IIC waveform) on one end of TCA9617B, will the other end output an equivalent 50Hz square wave? Could you please help answer this? Thank you.

  • Yes.

I²C uses open-drain signals, so the speed of rising edges depends on the pull-up resistors. And the TCA9617B does not support more than 1 MHz. But inside these constraints, it will buffer and repeat any digital signal.

(For a single-channel, unidirectional signal, better use the TXU0101, or a buffer like the SN74LVC1G17 if you do not need level shifting.)
