DP83848-EP: The cause of the attenuation of RX signal amplitude

Part Number: DP83848-EP

Tool/software:

Hello
We have a product that uses the DP83848-EP.
(The DP83848-EP is used in the peripheral device, not on the PC side.)
In that assembly, there are rare cases where the link goes down during LAN communication. (I have attached a waveform.)
I would like you to look at the waveform
1) the RX signal amplitude is attenuated
2) The RX signal is hunting around 500Hz.
What could be the cause?
(e.g.)
Decrease in the stability of the power supply supplied to the DP83848-EP
We would be grateful for any advice you could give us on how to use the IC and how to set up the peripheral circuitry.

Thank you in advance.
Tsuji

  • HI Tsuji-san,

May I ask which pin is RX-Data you are referring to? Are you referring to the MAC side (pin 43 to 46) or the MDI side (pin 13 and 14)?

If possible, could you also provide a schematic and position that you probe the signal lines?
