THVD1452: Can the THVD1452 be powered by the RS485 lines ?

Part Number: THVD1452

Tool/software:

Hi,

I intend to use the THVD1452DGSR in my design to communicate on RS422 bus. My question is: If my equipment is unpowered, but the equipment with which I am connected on the RS422 bus is alive and sending data, is there a chance that my THVD1452 receiver get polarized by current and voltages coming from the bus, via the ESD protection diodes inside the chip THVD1452 for instance (or other transistors/components) ? Should I put a diode in series with the power supply (keeping the Vcc inside the recommended operating range of course) to avoid any external sources connected to the bus interfering with my electronic board ?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Best regards.
