TLIN1028-Q1: Failed to enter sleep mode

Part Number: TLIN1028-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi TI Team,

The customer will test the circuit by configuring it without mcu.

However, it does not enter sleep mode after standby mode-->normal mode.

After connecting the battery voltage, 5V_VCC was connected to the EN pin for operation from standby mode to normal mode.

In order to enter SLEEP MODE, the EN signal was opened and the TXd pin was connected by GND.

However, it has not been changed to sleep mode, so LDO is still output.

  • Hi Cho,

I would recommend forcing to GND for a low.

Note that the schematic is not fully shown and I suspect the pins are not Low i.e. do not open or float while using pull-ups for example. Rather, force to GND and re-verify as this will indicate something is pulling the lines high, thanks

    Best Regards,

    Michael.

  • Hi Michael,

If the TXD pin is set to low first and the EN pin is set to low, it will be in sleep mode.

When the EN pin is low first, it seems that it did not enter sleep due to over time of tMODE_CHANGE.

Is it correct that TXD should always be low first for mode change during tMODE_CHANGE?

  • Hi Cho,

Do you mean if EN is low first, it did not enter sleep mode at all? Or it included tMODE_CHANGE delay and eventually entered sleep mode?

Including the delay is expected. If it did not enter sleep mode at all, I suspect TXD pin did not go low (something - like a pull-up is holding the pin high) until it was set low, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
