TCAN3404-Q1: Alternate part required with Isolated CAN Transceiver

Hi Team,

We are using TCAN3404DRBRQ1 CAN Transceiver in our design. As this part is not having Isolation, we need an alternate part for a CAN Transceiver with Isolated module.

Our concerns is the vcc had to be 3.3Vdc as there in the TCAN3404-Q1 part.

Please help in suggesting an alternate part with 3.3V - Isolated part.

Thanks for your suggestion.
The part you suggested has 5V at VCC2 , Supply voltage 2. My requirement is 3.3 only. Can you please comment if this is possible or not with any other part.

Unfortunately, I do not see any options where both supplies support 3.3 V and have moved the thread to the Isolation team for additional support, thanks.

Hi Teja,

Currently our isolated transceiver line does not support 3.3V CAN. I would recommend using TCAN3404DRBRQ1 + ISO7741 to implement isolation discretely.

Hi Andrew,

In addition to the above conversation. I need a clarification on RS232 Isolated transceiver with same 3.3V configuration and 1Mbps data rate. We are using this part i.e., TRSF3221EIRGTR which is non isolated one. Need to Upgrade it to isolated one. Please give your suggestions on this.

ISO1410 will be the most advanced family of isolated RS485 transcievers.

RS485 is not required. I had already checked this ISO1410 Part which is for RS-485. I am Looking for a RS232 Transceiver with Full duplex, Single channel and with 1Mbps Data rate.

Hello Teja,

Thank you for the clarification. I understand now that you are looking for an isolated RS232 transceiver. We currently do not have any isolated RS-232 transceivers in the portfolio.

It is recommended to use a discrete solution to implement isolated RS-232 (similar to the discrete isolated CAN method recommended above).
