TLK10031: Aselsan TLK10031 - HS_ENTRACK Register finding problem.

Our customer is using TLK10031 in many different projects. They are following following ways in below link for the startup.

For the usage of "10 XAUI to SFI"

Do we have to apply above in our application? Is this mandatory? In this method, we manually write the “HS_insert” register, examine the line output and determine an appropriate value.
We do this for cold, room and warm condition. In some cases, we cannot find an appropriate “HS_enter” register value under 3 conditions.
If this method is compulsory; can we perform this method with a different method without throwing a reset in step 7?

Hi Mustafa,

The sequence shared by Luis in this E2E thread should be followed for XAUI to SFI applications. Setting HS_ENTRACK=1'b1 and HS_EQPRE=3'b101 are recommended for optical applications but not required. For best performance, I recommend BER testing with all combinations of parameter values in register 0x1E.0004 (HS_SERDES_CONTROL_3). This will allow you to select the best performing HS EQ configuration.

I'm unsure what you mean by HS_insert and HS_enter registers. I do not see these names used in the datasheet.

Hi Mustafa,

The datapath reset is necessary for configuration changes to take effect. Is there a reason the customer wishes to avoid a datapath reset?
