Hi Bill,
We are releasing an early version to customers. Please accept my friend request and I will send it via message.
Best,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Nice to meet you. I am new to this forum, how will I receive this? Something on the Forum or an Email? Do you have any other information in addition to the datasheet and Programming Guide? I am thinking about, as an example, the information you have available for the LHM1228.
Many Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill,
Nice to meet you too. I'll send it via message, and you will be able to access it by clicking on the chatbox icon with the notification on it in the top right of the screen.
We do not have as much available for the LMH1239 yet, right now it's just the programming guide and a GUI. Both resources will become available soon as a download on TI.com
Best,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Do you have an ETA on the Programming Guide that includes the Register Map, etc...
What is the GUI you are referencing?
Many Thanks for all the Help and Assistance,
Bill
Hi Bill,
The programming guide with the register map, and the GUI, which is the GUI for the LMH1229 and LMH1239 that has eye monitor and register control functionality, are going through our publication process. I anticipate that both files will be posted to TI.com sometime early next month based on the fact that this week has a U.S. Holiday.
Thank you for your patience.
Best Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick,
Do you have an updated status on the Programming Guide with Register Map? I am also looking for S-Parameter files or IBIS Models for Simulation.
Many Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill,
You can request the Programming Guide with the Register Map at https://www.ti.com/drr/opn/LMH1239-DESIGN
We do not have S-parameter files or IBIS models for the LMH12x9 yet.
Best,
Nick
Hi Bill,
There is no timeline for the IBIS models or the S-parameter models. I will let you know in this thread if there are any updates because there were discussions about getting IBIS models for the part a while back.
Best,
Nick
Hi Bill,
What kind of S-parameters would you like? We have return loss S parameters for the inputs.
Also, for an IBIS model the LMH1297IBIS AMI is a good approximation for the LMH12x9, but there is still no plan to make the IBIS AMIs specifically for the part.
Best,
Nick
Hi Nick,
I will take what you have for models. Our application has both Cable Drivers and Cable Receivers; in addition to simulating the Cable Side, we also want to Simulate the FR4 side. My preference would be for S-Parameter files; however I will take IBIS if that is what you have.
I am surprised to hear that TI isn't planning on producing Simulation Models for the LMH12x9; I would assume that at 12G speeds that customers would be asking for these?
Many Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill,
Our application has both Cable Drivers and Cable Receivers; in addition to simulating the Cable Side, we also want to Simulate the FR4 side.
We currently have S parameters for the inputs and 75 ohm output. Specifically, we have S22 for IN0, IN1, and SDIOUT but not for the FR4 side.
I can share an excel sheet with the S22 vna measurements, or do you want the file in a SnP format for simulation? I will see about data conversion methods between these two formats.

This is the current situation but it is subject to change.

Nick
Hi Nick,
I did download the updated Programming Guide for the LMH1229. This document isn’t ready for “prime time”. As an example, in page 29 of the Programming Guide, Table 4-1 makes reference to Section 5.1.1, however, Section 5.1.1 doesn’t exist within this document. There are many such references to nonexistent sections??
When will the final document be available??
Many Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill,
I am working on fixing this issue and will let you know when it is fixed.
Even though the references are named incorrectly the hyperlink is still correct. Please use the available document for any development.
Best Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick,
I have an unrelated question regarding SDI Coax Connections. Specifically, does the Coax Shield connect to Circuit GND or does it connect to Chassis/Earth? My understanding is that in needs to connect to Circuit GND. As Circuit GND is the Reference for the Center Conductor of the Coax cable(?).
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
Hi Bill,
SDI Coax BNCs have GND pins that connect to the device reference GND. In our EVMs we have a GND pad for the BNC female coax connectors. The common reference GND is a constant for the Coax in its reference shielding.
We use this BNC in our 12G designs:
BNC7T-J-P-GN-ST-EM1D

Nick
