TUSB501-Q1: TUSB501 response time from SuperSpeed receiver plug to enter to redriver

Part Number: TUSB501-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB501

Tool/software:

Hi BU team

1. In normal operation when a SS usb receiver is plugged into tusb501-Q1, customer wants to know how long TUSB501-Q1 enable the RX termination? and if unplugs happen, how long TUSB-Q1 disable the RX termination?

2. And customer also noted the automatic LFPD detection function. What's the period time that TUSB501-Q1 launch LFPS signals?

3.  Can the LFPS period be changed by customer?

Thanks

  • Hi Ted,

    1. The RX detect timing is 6ms from attachment to when we enable terminations. When an unplug happens, the TUSB501 will wait 300ms before removing terminations and starting RX detect again.

    2. The TUSB501 does not create LFPS signals. It will pass through LFPS signals from the receivers to the transmitters with the differential propagation delay in the datasheet:

    3. LFPS is sent by the USB host or device, not by our TUSB501-Q1. You need to confirm with the SoC manufacturer whether the LFPS period can be changed.

    Best,

    Shane
