    Hi Daniel,

    Long cable mode really depends on the channel quality. Basically, Long Cable mode will simply start the AEQ floor value at a higher start point. If the minimum AEQ floor value is much lower than the typically settled value, then you can select the Long Cable mode.

    In general, you can enable long cable mode if the cable is over 5m long, but again, for the length of the cable, the full end-to-end system (device, traces, connector, and cable) should meet the channel specifications, including IL and RL to maintain signal integrity.
