Do we have new gen of MAX202? or do we have similar spec recommendation?

    The TRS202E has additional ESD ratings.

    The MAX232E is faster (250 kbps).

    The MAX3232(E)/TRS3232(E) also runs with a 3.3 V supply; the TRSF3232E at 1 Mbps.

    The MAX/TRS(F)3222/3318(E) devices have (auto-)powerdown features.

    Hi Lilian,

    Is there a particular feature set or improvement you are looking for? Faster data rate, improved ESD protection, wider VCC supply range, auto-powerdown features?

    Typically I recommend MAX3232E which supports either a 3.3V or 5V supply, 15kV IEC ESD protection, and 250kbps. It also has SOIC and TSSOP packages comparable to MAX202. Note MAX3232E has 15kV HBM and IEC protection, while MAX202 only has 15kV HBM. Having 15kV IEC protection typically means external ESD diodes are no longer necessary.
