SN65LBC176A: Driver High Impedance Output Current parameter Minimum and Maximum Limits Values

Part Number: SN65LBC176A

Tool/software:

Need to know expected minimum and maximum limits values for the driver High Impedance Output Current parameter and if there is anything I should be looking out for when I test the parameter. Please refer to page 4 of the part datasheet ( SN65LBC176A-EP ).

The datasheet says, “See receiver input currents” and the MIN and MAX fields are blank (do not have any values). I need to know the the actual MIN and MAX limits values to support a qualification test.

  • The driver and receiver signals are connected together. See the receiver bus input current (II) specifications on p. 5.

  • Hi Marcelo,

What pin specifically are you asking about? Since the datasheet states to look at the receiver input current, I believe this is actually the TTL pin (R). So the driver high impedance output current would refer to the D pin. Based on the schematic on page 2, I would probably guess the leakage on the D pin here is 70uA max if there is 20% tolerance and Vcc is 5.5V and you can probably round up to 100uA for margin. For min, if we assume 4.5V and 20% up on the resistances then it's probably closer to 37uA maybe round down to 20uA for more margin. The min here assumes input is GND, the min if the input is Vcc would probably be much smaller.  These would be estimates based on the schematic values.
