DS90UB960-Q1: SERDES FPDIII

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

in the Serializer/ Deserilizer Datasheet are Compatibility Lists for Serializers with Deserializers. So, basicly it is FPDIII.

  • Whats the difference or is not working, if I pair a Serializer with a Deserializer not in the compatibility list?
  • What is the difference betweeen SERES for camera sensor interfaces and display data interfaces?
  • Can I use a DS90UB940 for interfacing a FPDIII camera?
  • Can I use a DS90UB960 for interfacing a single Link FPD from an DS90UB927 or DS90UB941?

Is there an application note explaining the SERDES-Interfaceing hints?

  • Hello Sascha,

Whats the difference or is not working, if I pair a Serializer with a Deserializer not in the compatibility list?

You must use only each SER with a compatible DES. Using with non-compatible partner device may not work or work partially.

What is the difference betweeen SERES for camera sensor interfaces and display data interfaces?

There are differences in the protocol hence they are not compatible with each other.

    • Can I use a DS90UB940 for interfacing a FPDIII camera?
    • Can I use a DS90UB960 for interfacing a single Link FPD from an DS90UB927 or DS90UB941?

No, these will not work. Two different families.

Is there an application note explaining the SERDES-Interfaceing hints?

There is no App note, but I will try to simplify it.

There are two families, ADAS and IVI. Each family devices are only compatible within the same family.

    ADAS devices are all devices ends with 1x, 3x, 5x, 6x, 7x

    For example DS90UB913, DS90UB933, DS90UB954, DS90UB936, DS90UB9702 ..etc

IVI devices are all devices ends with 0x, 2x, 4x, 8x

    For example DS90Ux906, DS90Ux927, DS90Ux941, DS90Ux940, DS90Ux983 ..etc
