My customer has a question for DP83848.
They found that RX_EN pin voltage is intermediate voltage around 1.06V due to the internal pull-down of the processor.
Since this pin is a strap pin for MDIX_EN, it means Auto-MDIX could be enabled or disabled right after start up.
They want to enable Auto-MDIX.
They have already released this board. Then they are investigating if it is OK for their product or not.
After the start-up, the processor set bit12 and bit 9 to “1” in BMCR register for auto-negotiation restart.
Does this enabling auto-negotiation include enabling Auto-MDIX?
Meaning, even if the Auto-MDIX is disabled by the strap, does enabling auto-negotiation enable Auto-MDIX?
