Hi All,
The DP83867IRRGZ works normally with SGMII.
I understand that the DP83867IRRGZ is for MII/GMII/RGMII, so why does it also work with SGMII?
Please tell me the difference between MII/GMII/RGMII and SGMII.
Best Regards,
Ishiwata

Hello,
We do not support DP83867IRRGZ for SGMII support. If customer intends to operate device in such a way, this is outside of the bounds of datasheet and responsibility of validating is solely place on customer.
Sincerely,
Gerome
Hi
Thank you for your reply.
I don't want to use SGMII with DP83867IRRGZ.
I mistakenly used DP83867IRRGZ instead of DP83867ISRGZ to set the MAC interface to SGMII, but it is communicating normally.
I would like to know why it is communicating normally.
Best Regards,
Ishiwata
Hi Ishiwata,
The functionality may be present in DP83867IRRGZ, but we do not guarantee support for this device in this use case application.
Sincerely,
Gerome
