DS90UB934-Q1: DS90UB93 Visual abnormalities and screen flickering

Part Number: DS90UB934-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ALP

Tool/software:

Dears,

Customer use TI DS90UB934 for DES,and camera use DS90UB933 for Ser. During actual vehicle testing, there may be visual abnormalities and screen flickering.

By the way,Customer want to know how to use BIST function to test the integrity of signal transmission? Thanks.

  • Hi Jon,

A good starting place would be to run the Margin Analysis tool to see the link margin between the 933 and 934. This available on the UB934 ALP profile.

For BIST please refer to the following description for the UB933 datasheet:

If entering BIST via the pin is not possible, it can be activated via register 0xB3 on the deserializer as shown below:

  • Hello Zoe,

There is a probability of image segmentation on the customer's 934 display, with changes in the 4D and 4E register values during segmentation. 4D=0x13, 4E=0x24. Normally, 4D=0x03, 4E=0x04. And strangely, the customer's BT656 does not use HS VS, but there is waveform output on the 934 HS VS.

May I ask how to troubleshoot this issue or what solutions are available? thank you.

  • Zoe,

        update the sch. Thanks.

  • Hi Jon,

0x4D=0x13 and 0x4E=0x24 denotes a change in lock status and FPD encoder errors respectively. Can you please provide the MAP and BIST results here?

    Best,

    Zoe

  • Zoe,

Tthe attachment file is the register value when customer enter BIST.

1.Is it normal to not display images in BIST mode?

2,How to operate in BIST mode to see which information has been useful?

3,Does the MAP you mentioned refer to the values of all registers in DS90UB934?

Look forward to your reply and thank you for your great support!

  • Hi Jon,

In BIST mode, we will primarily want to read back register 0x57 to check for errors on the link. This would be to check the correct number of errors are detected.

For MAP tool, this is an integrated feature to the TI Analog LaunchPAD software as pictured here:

On the page, please select which PORT MAP should be run on for the system.

I recommend running this on both ports to see what differences are here.

    Best,

    Zoe
