TCAN1043-Q1: sleep mode

Part Number: TCAN1043-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is testing TCAN1043-Q1 and they found that when the ECU is powered up, and the EN and STB pins are both low, the INH pin will change from high to low automatically after a few minutes. It is assumed that TCAN1043-Q1 entered sleep mode on the basis of this phenomenon.

May I know if the TCAN1043-Q1 has an internal mechanism that automatically switches to sleep mode when in Standby mode for a long time? However, there is no such description in the datasheet. The customer would like to ask under what circumstances this situation may occur.

Thanks.

Regards,

Ivy

  • Hi Ivy,

Can you confirm if your customer is using TCAN1043 or TCAN1043A (note the "A" version)?

In the A version, there is something called the SWE timer. If TCAN1043A is in Standby mode for longer than 5 minutes, then it will enter Sleep mode.

Note that TCAN1043 (non-A version) does not have this SWE timer.

    Regards,

    Ethan
