DS90UB924-Q1: using 928 IBIS model

Part Number: DS90UB924-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB928Q

Tool/software:

Hello team,

Customer uses UB928 IBIS File for UB924 design. It only has one drive strength (400mV swing) in IBIS model which is different with UB924 datasheet(400mV and 600 mV swing ). Could you help to check this? Thank you.

Besides, is there now a dedicated IBIS file for 924?

Regards,

Daniel Wang

  • Hi Daniel,

As Hamzeh mentioned in the other E2E, there still is no available IBIS model for the 924, as the IC is very similar to the 928.

Similar to the 928, there is the similar 400 mV or 600 mV option for the LVDS output based on register 0x4B[1:0].

The IBIS file that is available for the 928 currently in place of the 924 has the 400 mV option as it is designed, if the 600 mV option is needed the current guidance for this is to employ additional components external to the model that would emulate the 600 mV output.

    I hope this clarifies!

    Best,

    Miguel

  •  Hi Miguel

This is Qingqing Gao from EE team and I requested to Daniel.

We need IBIS Model for DS90UB928Q with Differential Output Voltage (Vod(p-p)) 600mV setting.

We already have the model with 400mV setting as you said.  Can you please provide us more details about how to employ additional  external components to emulate the 600 mV output?

    Thank you so much.

    Best regards

  • Hi Qingqing,

I must provide a correction in this example, external components may only be used to bring a voltage down from the output driver but in this case the IBIS model must be changed in order to achieve the 600mV output setting.

We will have to place a request for a new IBIS model entirely in order for the new model to reflect this voltage output, which may take some time.

    Thanks for your request,

    Miguel

  • Hi Miguel,

    Thank you for your explaination.

It is nice of you to apply for a new IBIS.We are waiting for you upadte information.

  • Hello,

the team is out due to the Holidays. Responses will be delayed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 2.

    Thank you for your patience
