DP83822H: SOC and PHY not pinging successfully.

we are facing same issues with PC as well as laptops for 10Mbps half/full duplex mode.

Following issues:

1. Alternate pinging loss in both PHYs.

2. Sometimes one PHYs won't ping.

3. In Reverse loopback condition :pinging wont happening from device to PC.

Is single DP83822 connecting to the same PHY able to ping the PC successfully?

• If so, this issue might be related to the SoC's coding to priority when two PHY pinging at the same time.

At a time while checking from one PHY to PC pinging is successful, but if we are ping from both PHY to PC one port will ping successfully but another one won't ping, this issue coming randomly.

Since one port is performing correctly, most likely the PHY is function normally.

May I ask what SoC are you currently using. Did you get a chance to check with the coding on the SoC?

Per the question answer about source code there may be an answer to the following questions but I will ask again.

The AM437 has two different MACs, one called CPSW and the other PRU-ETH. Could you please describe which interface is being used? CPSW or PRU-ETH? Which SDK version is being used? 

To get to possible heart of the issue though I will state that the PRU-ETH does not support 10Mbps either half or full duplex on the latest SDK. Only 100Mbps is supported. Another thing to note is that the PRU-ETH driver specifically removes advertising support for 10Mbps. The CPSW mac does support 10Mbps.

Please post the results of ifconfig -a. Also please  post the results of ethtool for each interface listed from the ifconfig command. Example:

ethtool eth0

ethtool eth1

ethool eth2 

etc.

The AM437 MACs using is PRU-ETH.

SDK version: 08.02.00.24 

ethtool logs for 10Mbps/full.

Since it was mentioned earlier in the thread that you do not have access to the SW code what information is returned with the command uname -a return?

Yes, with 100Mbps full it will ping successfully. with 100Mbps/half rarely timeout issues will come .
