ESD2CAN24-Q1: Harman:CROSSTALK parameter confirmation.

Part Number: ESD2CAN24-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ESD2CAN24

Tool/software:

Hi team,

1. Harman wants to confirm the Crosstalk parameters between the two ESD protection diodes inside the ESD2CAN24DBZRQ1?
2. In addition, will two high-speed signals from different paths crosstalk each other when added to two ports?

  • Hi Alan,

What application is this for? ESD2CAN24 was targeted for CAN bus protection so we don't have any cross talk data handy.

    1. Are they looking for near or far end cross talk data?

I could gather this with an s-parameter model but we don''t currently have one. I would need some time to get that model from our validation team.

    2.  There can be risk of crosstalk between two traces that are routed closely together.. this is highly dependent on characteristics of the signals being sent and the PCB design.

    Regards,

    Sebastian

  • Hi Sebastian,

The customer is using HDTVI video signal which bandwidth should be around 32Mhz. Is there any risk? Because currently the customer uses our ESD on the low-speed interface.

  • Hi Alan,

I don't believe there should be major concerns at speeds below a few hundred Mhz.

    Sebastian

  • Hi Sebastian,

Harman's IC manufacturer requires cross talk < -60dB (at frequencies of 100MHz and below). Can the device ESD2CAN24DBZRQ1 meet this requirement?

  • Hi Alan,

Do you have an example of the data they're looking for? Are they looking for near end or far end cross talk data?

I'm sure our ESD diode can meet the requirements for these low of frequencies, but I will need an S-parameter model to run simulations.

    Regards,

    Sebastian
