TRS3122E: [ACCELINK] SCH review for RS232-UART conversion

Part Number: TRS3122E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR2243-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer Accelink uses TRS3122E for the RS232-UART conversion. The RS232 comes from mmWave radar AWR2243-Q1. Could you help to review their schematics?

Thanks,

Frank

  • Frank,

We will look at this and have a response for you by end of business 01/09/2025.

  • Hi Frank,

    • Both the decoupling capacitors and charge pump capacitors are placed correctly and with the right values. For the layout, ensure sure the charge pump capacitors are placed as close to the device as possible only on the top layer.
    • Both FORCEON and FORCEOFF are high so the device will operate normally without auto-powerdown. This will consume more power, but as long as the customer is aware this is not a problem.
    • My main concern is that bus Pins 4 and 6 (RIN2 and DOUT2) are left open while the respective logic pins 9 and 11 (ROUT2 and DIN2) are connected. If RIN2 and DOUT2 are not in use, it is best practice to tied any unused inputs to GND or VCC.

Let me know if you have any further questions,
