We have encountered an ESD issue of our automatic parking system ECU, camera;

Issue 1: The combined video screen is blurred while we discharging 6KV/8KV on the metal housing of the surround view camera.

Issue 2: The one side(front, or rear, or left, or right) of the video screen is flicker sometimes while we discharging 6KV/8KV on the metal housing of the surround view camera.

Background:

1. We use DS90UB962-Q1 in the ECU side, and DS90UB935-Q1 in the camera side; and the image sensor of camera is OVT OX03F10;

2. We have another camera with Image sensor OVT OX03F10 + MAX96717F, the housing is also metal, this camera can pass the ESD test up to 8KV contact discharge and 15KV air discharge with status A; so we supposed maybe something are different between TI and MAXIM which affect the ESD test, maybe the hardware design, software protocol?

Could you help to do some analysis and give some advices? Please let me know if you need further details.

Hi Zhaocai,

Are you able to share a register dump of the 962 and 935 after this phenomena is observed? This will help us see what software configuration is being done and check diagnostics.

Additionally, is FEC being used in this configuration? If so, can you please confirm the CSI-2 lane speed of the imager and which FEC setting is being used?

We will try to get the register dump when this phenomena is observed, it will take few days.

As regards the FEC, we've tested with the second one of the configuration, failed. we are going to use the other two to do this test. The CSI-2 lane speed is 1350Mbps-1500Mbps.

Hi Zhaocai,

For the lane speed shared is this total? Is it 1350-1500Mbs total for ~<400Mbps/lane total?

The reason for this question is that we will need to consider FEC overhead on the serializer CSI-2 input side.

Please let me know once a register dump is possible.
