DS90UB941AS-Q1: Measurement of DSI jitter and frequency

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello Team,

I am going to measure DSI clock to define its characteristics for 941A and 948

(+) [FAQ] DS90UB941AS-Q1: DSI or REFCLK Jitter Measurement - Interface forum - Interface - TI E2E support forums

This Post is really good explanation for me. BTW it doesn't have probing point when measure DSI.

I understand 2requirements in datasheet for DSI clock.

1) 0.5% stable Frequency.

2) 0.3UI jitter of FPD.

To measure those items. I am planning as

1) 0.5% stable DSI frequency : Measure SER DSI input pin directly.

2) DSI clock jitter measurement from FPD link :  Measure RX IN pin directly at DES. And this measurement may need to disable Back channel at DES.

My measurement method is correct?? or Do I need to measure DSI clock jitter from CML at DES??

Would you pls help me clarify measurement point for DSI clock characteristics check?? If you have another proposal to check dsi clock requirement, pls share it with me.

Thank you.

  • Hey Harry,

You don't need to measure at the DES or CML, etc.

All you need to do is measure the DSI jitter directly at the DSI_CLK pins of the 941AS.

From the looks of it you are using DSI reference CLK mode so just measure directly at these pins.
