Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

What is the throughput of default 5.15 BSP for CAN with 8byte message??

  • Hi Tanushree,

Today is a US holiday. Please help give some time for expert feedback, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.

  • Hi Tanushree,

The throughput is primarily dependent on the efficiency of the SPI communication which is controlled by the processor which passes the message data into and out of the TCAN4550-Q1 as well as reads and writes the required messages to transmit and receive the messages.

The TCAN4550-Q1 is supported at a device level and I can help with any questions on the device specific timing parameters, hardware parameters, configuration settings, or other datasheet related questions, etc.  But any processor timing or firmware related questions using the Linux driver is outside of my purview and the throughput may vary.

I would suggest this can only be determined in your application by direct evaluation in your application, or measurements on the SPI timing of the various register read/writes to determine the overall time needed to fully transmit or receive a CAN message.

    Regards,

    Jonathan
