DP83826EVM: Write and read failure on extended registers using USB-2-MDIO

Part Number: DP83826EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB-2-MDIO,

Tool/software:

Hello!

I am using the DP83826EVM to configure extended registers on the PHY. However, after writing the register values using the USB-2-MDIO Tool, the values always show as 0000. I have also installed the MSP430 driver. Could there be any jumper configuration or other setup steps that I might have missed?

  • Hi Mohammad,

    Automatic extended register access may not be available for this register range.

    Please set "Extended Register" drop-down = "No", and try this sequence:

    0xD = 0x1F
    0xE = 0x173
    0xD = 0x401F
    0xE

    The last read of 0xE should return value in 0x173.

    Thank you,

    Evan
