HD3SS214: Package differences

Customer is reaching out regarding the differences between HD3SS214ZXHR vs HD3SS214ZQER? I do not see the QER part number on the datasheet.

1. Are these P2P compatible?

2. What are the differences, if any?

HD3SS214ZQER is the jrBGA microstar package. The HD3SS214 migrated from the jrBGA microstar package to a nFBGA package. But the two packages are pin-to-pin compatible with each other. Please see this app note for more detail on the package migration, https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllz077/sllz077.pdf.

Thanks! Just to clarify, does this mean the -QER package is discontinued with -XHR taking over?

Your understanding is correct, -ZQE is being discontinued and re-designed with -ZXH package. The -ZXH package offers data sheet-equivalent electrical performance and data sheet-equivalent or better thermal performance. It provides the same X and Y dimensions as -ZQE, and provides pin-to-pin and footprint compatibility.
