DS90UB953-Q1: A question about the component: DS90UB953-Q1

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello

My company is interested in developing products so that the data traffic between them and the power will be transmitted over a coax infrastructure (Power + MOCA).
We think that perhaps the component mentioned in the title could help us with this.
If, and how, can I connect this component like this:
One side of this component goes to the power over Moca (i.e. Coax interface).
The other side will go to the ethernet/uart interface of the MCU (let's say, any TI or STM32 standart MCU).

I would appreciate an electrical explanation in terms of connection, interface, and whether it is possible.
If not, how can I interface in the most efficient and shortest way, in terms of hardware and microprocessor, to the POWER MOCA infrastructure, in a multi-drop configuration.
Thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you provide some more details on your system and what interfaces/data will be transmitted? A block diagram may be helpful here.

The DS90UB953 device as well as most other FPD-Link devices can be used for power over coax. This application note includes details, considerations, and several examples that can be used as reference. The 953 specifically is a CSI serializer, which can receive and transmit CSI data to a partner deserializer such as the DS90UB954. The deserializer then outputs the CSI data to the rest of the system.
