TCAN4551-Q1: Resources for implementing Autosar

Part Number: TCAN4551-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN4550-Q1

Tool/software:

Hey CAN Interface Team,

I have a customer evaluating the TCAN4551-Q1 and TCAN4550-Q1 for a new project and we are planning to use these CAN-FD controllers to implement Autosar. Are there any design resources, application notes, or SW drivers that are available which would help in this development?

Best regards,

Matt Calvo

  • Hi Matt,

Yes, we have an AUTOSAR driver available.  It implements an ECU abstraction layer that can be used with a standard SPI MCAL driver in order to support CAN communication via TCAN455x-Q1.  I will email you the file.

You might want to reference Section 6.1 of our Software User's Guide for more information on the different layers of abstraction used by AutoSAR:

    http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sllu270/sllu270.pdf

The code we provide is for the ECU abstraction layer, which is processor-independent.  This could make calls to a processor's lower-level MCAL driver, which would implement standard functions like SPI read/writes based on that specific processor's hardware.

    Jonathan

  • Thank you for the detailed reply and the direct email Jonathan!

I'll pass this all along to my customer and will have them comment back on this thread directly with any follow-up questions they may have.
