TMDS181: Polarity on TMDS181

Part Number: TMDS181

Tool/software:

Hello,

We want to use TMDS181 for our HDMI input design.

We figured out that we have lanes crossing + polarity crossing between our HDMI connector and the TMDS181 chip.

To fix the lane crossing issue, we set SWAP_POL = 0 to swap the pairs at the input, as shown in figure 26 of datasheet.

We want to avoid to use the polarity swap function since:

- we cannot set it using pin strap since we already do lane swapping

- it prevents us to use the chip in redriver mode.

Our question is : is it allowable to invert polarity on both sides of the TMDS181, as shown below ? So we won't need to activate polarity swap function .

Is there any  technical limitation to do this ?

(Signals on the left come from HDMI connector, signals on the right goes to the FPGA. P is positive wire and N is negative wire, referenced to HDMI connector pinout).

Thanks a lot.
