DS250DF230: PLL lock time

Part Number: DS250DF230

Tool/software:

Could you please tell me about the DS250DF230?

I would like to knowfollowings,

(1) the time it takes for the PLL to lock

(2) the time it takes for the PLL to unlock

in both "Lock Mode" and "Non-Lock Mode".

And does this change depending on the transmission rate or register settings?

Thank you for your support.

Best Regards,

Takumi

  • Hi Takumi-san,

    1. In lock mode (CDR mode), the CDR lock time is dependent on the adaptation mode used.  For adapt mode 2, we expect <100ms.

I don't have measurements on the unlock time, but I would expect it to be very quick, <1ms.

    2. In non-lock mode (I'm assuming you mean CDR bypass mode), there is no lock time.

The CDR lock time will be most significantly impacted by the CDR divider setting.  For example, I expect the lock time for 10GbE (10.3125 Gbps) to be longer than 25 GbE due to increased adaptation time.

    Thanks,

    Drew

  • Hi Drew-san,

Thank you very much for your quick response!

    I understood.
