What is the difference between these two OPN's: AM26LS31MFKB and 5962-7802301M2A?

Product page says they are the same, but would like to know why we even have this OPN - 5962-7802301M2A?

The characteristics of the AM26LS31MxxB are defined by TI in the datasheet.
The characteristics of the 5962-7802301xxA are defined in the SMD 5962-78023; this naming is required to sell to the DoD.

The difference is that 5962-7802301M2A is the military version. Unless it is explicitly needed, AM26LS31M is recommended.

But before we close the ticket, could you confirm if below summary is correct?
AM26LS31MFKB and 5962-7802301M2A are identical in form, fit, functionality and specifications?
The only difference is that 5962-7802301M2A naming convention is necessary for the military market?
