TUSB8041A: When directly connecting the CPU and TUSB8041A on the board, are AC coupling capacitors necessary?

Part Number: TUSB8041A

Tool/software:

Hi team,

Please teach me about the circuit of the TUSB8041A.

My customer is planning to directly connect the CPU and TUSB8041A on the board.

They will connect a 0.1uF AC coupling capacitor on the TUSB8041A side to the USB_SSTXP_UP and USB_SSTXM_UP pins.

Is it correct to connect the USB_SSRXP_UP and USB_SSRXM_UP pins to the CPU without an AC coupling capacitor?

The checklist documentation states the following: ‘No AC coupling capacitor required, connect to USB Host SSTXp/n or USB Connector SSRXp/n.’

If the board is connected to the host side through a USB connector, the host side of the board has AC coupling capacitors, so I think the following is correct.

However, if there is no USB connector and it is directly connected on the board, I think AC coupling capacitors are needed.

Best regards,

Kyohei
