TS3USB221A-Q1: TS3USB221A-Q1 for ethernet switching

Part Number: TS3USB221A-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am looking for ethernet switch for our automotive application. I couldn't find the one but came across TS3USB221A-Q1. As this is for USB, can we use for ethernet and CAN protocol also?

Let me know if any appropriate solution is available.

Below is our requirement:

  1. Signal switching (ethernet 100-base, CANK/L line protocols ,etc.)
  2. Coil ratings (wide range from 3.3-12V with latching option is preferred to reduce consumption)
  3. Contact ( Input voltage: 0-36V operation, Current: 1A)
  4. Signal Frequency: >100MHz
  5. High frequency switch is not intended as there won't be a run time switching.

Thanks,

Nikunj

  • Hello Nikunj,

The TS3USB221A-Q1 can pass signals up to 5.5V. The Coil ratings and contact exceed the parts limitations (including the current).

Unfortunately we don't have a part that can meet your application requirements.

I will add these specification to our back log.

Can you elaborate on your application and where a mux would fit in?

    Thanks,

    Nir

  • Hi Nir,

We have been using AGN210S4HZ for signal (CANK/L line protocols etc.) switching for automotive diagnostic application. I am looking for automotive part that can replace this relay for modern automotive diagnostic application. As we are in R&D phase we are open for any alternate having AEC qualification.

Let me know if further information is required.

    Thanks,

    Nikunj

  • Hello Nikunj,

    Understood, thank you for elaborating.
We don't have an automotive part that can handle such application.
Our best option is the TMUX7612. It can pass 36V and if the channels are routed in parallel it will be able to handle 1A (up to 105C).
It also has a bandwidth of 180MHz.

    Thanks,

    Nir

  • Thanks Nir for confirmation and sharing the additional details.

    Regards,

    Nikunj
