LMH1219: Output 0 not always present.

Part Number: LMH1219
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH1297

Tool/software:

Good morning,

I am in production (5 years) with a board capable of SDI 12G.

Up to now no issue found on this I/F.

Please, look at the block diagram in attachment.

I have identified 2 point of test: point A and Point B.

Point A.

I do not see always the signal at this output (Out 0 of LMH1219)

Some times the signal is not present.

Some times the signal is present and stays present for ever.

Point B

the signal here is always present even when at point A is not.

The signal here is always stable.

Conclusion:

LMH1219 is able to receive  and equalize the 12G at input and can transmit it to the LMH1297.

Lock signal moves correctly when I connect 12G input.

I do not explain the reason why Out 0 is not stable.

Do you have any idea- suggestion to investigate?

  • Hi Paolo,

    Nice to meet you.

    Point A.

I do not see always the signal at this output (Out 0 of LMH1219)

Some times the signal is not present.

Some times the signal is present and stays present for ever.

Have you been able to identify specific input conditions wherein the signal is not present at A? Is it dependent on input loss?

Have you performed an A/B swap to see if the problem follows the die? If you are able to perform this kind of swap that will identify if the problem follows the specific device.

    Best Regards,

    Nick
