Hi,
Can the TMUXHS4512 be utilized to split the MIPI data from the processor to both a MIPI interface display and a secondary HDMI interface display? If not, could you please recommend an appropriate solution for this requirement?
Hello Sanath,
In theory the TMUXHS4512 can work for this application. It depends on the voltage levels your are trying to pass through the mux. The data pins are rated up to 1.4V and the sideband ones can tolerate up to 5V.
The MIPI protocol can exceed 1.4V and as a result you are limited to only sideband pins.
The TMUX646 might be a better option if the signal speed is not too high (can handle up to 12Gbps max).
Thanks,
Nir
hi nir,
thank you for the reply,
what if we want to use 2 mipi display from single processor how can we do it.
i think that time mux won't work out we need splitter type chip right if you know any such chip please suggest.
thanks,
sanath
Hello Sanath,
If am understanding correctly the application a mux might work here.
You can demux the signal. A single MIPI input from the processor can pass through the mux and fan it out to the displays.
Thanks,
Nir
