Question on ESDS552DBZR part

Below id my understanding on pin mapping

PNI-1 SIGNAL1

PIN-2 SIGNAL2

PIN-3 GND

Can I leave PIN2 as unconnected / NC in the schematics? If no, what is recommended. Mine is single channel use.

I consider to use it as alternate to GSOT12-E3-08 [Vishay Part]

  • Hi Yashwanth,

Yes the 2nd pin can be left unconnected, this will not affect the performance of the other input.

Are you looking to just drop in the ESDS552 on a current design?

The competitor device is unidirectional while our ESDS552 is bidirectional which result in higher clamping voltage for negative ESD strikes, so I just want to double check that is okay in your current design.

We do offer single channel diodes that could be used here if you're open to a new package.

    Regards,

    Sebastian
