TLIN2021-Q1: TLIN2021-Q1

Part Number: TLIN2021-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a query regarding the commander node pull-up , according to application information it is suggested to use 1kohm. So is it necessary to use 1kohm , or is it  possible to increase the value to maintain the power dissipation of the resistor. And if we can increase then what is the range of pull up resistor?

Thank you!

  • Hi Sangeeta,

It is possible to increase within the range of 1k to 10k.
However, consider the trade-offs of the increased pull-up with lower current to charge the bus, hence slower rise time dependent on the bus capacitance and higher data rates and would recommend to verify based on your system, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.

  • Hi Michael,

In datasheet, do we have the information of minimum charge current required to charge the bus? or its depend on the capacitor? and during dominant state what will be the minimum current for pin number 6 or Pin name 'LIN'.

  • Hi Sangeeta

We do not specify the min current required as it depends on the bus's capacitance and the pull-up resistor.

During dominant, the current is determined by the supply voltage and pull-up resistor. I_dominant = VSUP / Rpullup.

    With 12 V as an example and the 1 Kohm standard, I = 12 V / 1 kohms as 12 mA, thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Michael.
