TCA9534A: Tj (max) and Max. power consumption Check

Part Number: TCA9534A

Tool/software:

Hi Sir,

We found Tj (max) only 100oC in the datasheet, is it correct? Normally the Silicon IC should be 125oC  degree.

If the Tj(max) is only 100oC , what's the max. power consumption for TCA9534A.

We would like to clarify these parameters to calculate Tc.

Thanks,

Ocean

  • Hi Ocean,

Tj(max) is spec'ed at 100C abs max. Yes this is correct.

Max power consumption can be calculated using the following formula.

    (Tj(max) - TA(max)) / RthetaJA = Pt(max)

I think this would be the way I would calculate the total power consumption.

    (100C - 85C) / 122 C/W = 0.122 W = 122mW of power.

    Regards,

    Tyler
